Pack 804 took a guided tour of the old DeLand Courthouse on Thursday, March 5, 2009. The tour guide’s name was Mrs. Carmen, and she was very informative and excited to teach us about this piece of Florida history.

In preparation for their high adventure summer camp, Troop 804 embarked on the first of three or four practice missions. The event took place on the weekend of February 27-29, 2009. The goal this time was to backpack a short distance (2.7 miles) carrying everything (including water) that would be needed for the weekend.

On the evening of 26 January, 2009, Pack 804 held their first Pack Meeting of the year, and Troop 804 shared the occasion with their first Court Of Honor of the year. The theme of the meeting was “A-maze-ing Games, and the cubs all had fun with the three main events, Skateboard Maze, Slalom Course, and Golf Ball Balance.

At 9:00 Saturday morning January 23, 2009, it was a little bit chilly, but that didn’t deter eighteen people from having a great time at Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge.

Once again, Troop 804, accompanied by yet another set of Webelos, participated in the Tuscarora District’s Webelos Woods event. During the weekend of January 16th - 18th, 2009, seven of Pack 804’s Webelos learned a few new skills and practiced to become well-prepared Boy Scouts while five of Troop 804’s Scouts helped them and all of the other of the dictrict’s attending Webelos to do so.

Well, some time has certainly gone by since the last Troop 804 newsletter. We have had many fun times in the past few months, and several rank advancements have been made. The purpose of this newsletter, however, is to detail some future events for all Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Leaders, and Parents. With spring and summer on the way, there are many events to plan for. Some of these involve permission slips, medical exams, and other types of preparations. We don’t want anyone left out due to a lack of preparation, so please read through the following information carefully.
